Through a study of the major problems which students encounter in writing - unity, coherence, effective development - the groundwork will be laid for the principal aim of the course: to write well-organized paragraphs and compositions. To serve as models of effective writing, various essays will be read for form and content. Weekly research and/or writing assignments will be expected in this course. Prerequisite: English Placement Test. Day Course.
