This course surveys the writing of Nobel laureate Toni Morrison. Texts are selected from her novels, essays, drama, children's literature, and drama and also include criticism written about her work by other scholars. Prerequisite(s): one of the following: African American Studies 100 or 140A, African American Studies/English 225, English 294 or 295, English/Women and Gender Studies 297 or 395. Not open to students who have received credit for AA/WS s32. Enrollment limited to 15. S. Houchins.
