An introduction to various critical approaches to the study of literature. Students in this course will practice the application of different critical principles to literary texts. Ideally English majors should take this course during their sophomore year to help prepare for the reading and writing tasks in other courses. Prerequisite: ENGL 131, 132. Credit, 3 hours.
