An introduction to the knowledge and skills needed for generalist social work practice with various minority and at-risk populations, as well as an examination of the historical development, practice methodologies and settings, values and ethics encompassing the social work profession. An essential component of this course will be a thirty-six (36) hour fi eld education experience, in an approved agency, designed to engage students experientially with the profession as participant/ observers in a milieux of human service agencies in which social work is practiced.
