This course introduces students to the problems of development and change. Examples will be drawn from Third World models of development, nationalism, imperialism, environmentalism, and human rights. The course is interdisciplinary, with emphasis on historical, economic, environmental and sociological aspects. Prerequisites: SOCI 131 or permission of instructor.
