This course will build on the concepts and principles learned in BHSC 245 and 246. Topics include ethics in research, writing research proposals and reports, selecting the appropriate research design and statistical analyses, performing literature researches, and critically reviewing published research reports. Students will be introduced to frequently used statistical and graphic computer packages in psychology. Students will be required to write a research proposal that includes a hypothesis, literature review, and experimental plan. If approved by the professor, students may choose to implement the research proposal in PSYH 492. Prerequisites: PSYH 200, BHSC 245 and 246.
