A biblical, historical, and systematic study is undertaken of the doctrine of the Holy Spirit. Special attention will be given to contemporary issues related to the rise of the Pentecostal and Charismatic movements. Scripture's own teaching will be brought to bear in examining historical and contemporary issues, e.g., the fi lioque controversy, the relation of the Spirit and the Son both in eternity and in the incarnation, the baptism in the Holy Spirit, gifts of the Spirit, and walking in the Spirit.
