Explores philosophies that underlie current strategies for teaching music and movement to children between birth and age 5. Focuses on self-contained music classes with parent partners, and music class or day care settings for children without parents. Students will be challenged to develop a rationale for early music education with examples of personal practice based on experience with or observation of early education practices based on Suzuki, Kindermusik, Yamaha, and other successful models of pre-school music learning.
