Institution:
The New England Conservatory of Music
Subject:
Description:
We will analyze various thinkers' responses to the primary questions in the philosophy of art, such as: What distinguishes art from non-art, or music from repetitive sounds? Who determines what is or is not art? Do the arts have an ethical function? How do abstract works convey meaning?
