Description:
-
Societies change because of a political event like the Russian Revolution, or because of the automobile, or penicillin, or computers, or birth rates, or "globalization."Some revolutions occur suddenly, some imperceptibly, but societies and people survive and flourish according to their ability to adapt to them. The first half of the course will focus on some of the major revolutions of the 20th century in politics, society, and technology; the second half will focus in particular on "globalization," medicine and demography.
