Three Credits Spring Semester The impact of the 12th century Anglo-Norman invasion on Irish social, political and cultural life. The creation of the pale region of Anglo Norman dominance and the different culture from that of Gaelic Ireland. Provides a brief historical survey of Gaelic Ireland in the early middle ages and insight into the archaeology of the medieval Irish Church. Introduces the world of the Irish bardic poet and his work.
