[Renumbered from REL 203] A study of representative selections from the different types of literature found in the New Testament. Literary and historical criticism are used to gain understanding of basic elements of the faith and practice of the earliest Christians. The synoptic Gospels, the Johannine literature, the letters of Paul, and the book of Acts are emphasized. Problems and methods of the interpretation of the scripture are explored. 3 Credits.
