An advanced course, COM 403 teaches film analysis and writing, examining the relationship among film theory, criticism, and production. Emphasis is placed on close analysis of specific films and examples of film literature. Students write several critical essays on films seen both inside and outside of class. Prerequisites: COM 304, COM 305 or COM 306. 3 credits. Fall semester; day. Evening as needed.
