An advanced intermediate course, COM 309 continues the examination of issues begun in COM 304, investigating selected problems and controversies in the contemporary mass media from the perspective of practitioners. Topics include censorship and legal issues, the artistic strategies of popular cultural forms, and new technologies and opportunities in the electronic media. Prerequisite: COM 304. 3 credits.
