An analysis of alternative approaches to reading and literacy instruction that address NY State and NY City standards. Includes an examination of techniques to detect and remedy reading problems in the classroom. Each student is required to collect, construct, and evaluate materials for use in a classroom situation, a small-group situation, and individual instruction. This course includes 15 hours of field experience. Prerequisite: CED 410. 3 credits. Spring semester; day and evening.
