A survey of nucleic acid structure, function, and regulation in prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms, emphasizing modern techniques and their uses in answering questions at the molecular level. Laboratory exercises allow students to gain experience in molecular biological research. Prerequisites: BIO 104 and CHE 2102. Three lectures and three lab hours per week. Lab fee. 4 credits.
