This course introduces students to the actors and basic stages in the process of investigating a major crime scene. The student becomes familiar with the techniques of interview and interrogation, evidence collection and chain of custody issues. The course also introduces students to the roles and duties of the responding officer, the detective, the evidence collection officer, and the supervising officer. Prerequisite: CJ 1020/SOC 1020. 3 credits. Spring semester.
