An intermediate course, COM 503 examines the dynamics of small group communication theory and process in actual day-today small group experiences. The course focuses primarily on problem-solving groups using the case-study approach. Areas of exploration include leadership, participation, roles, norms, conflicts, cohesiveness, consensus, productivity, member satisfaction, group formats, problem-solving agenda systems, and group discussion techniques. Prerequisite: COM 203. 3 credits. Fall semester; day and evening.
