This course is designed to give the student a background in theories and practical applications of how groups function, their influence on the individual, and the resulting implications for social work practice. Particular emphasis is placed on the influence of cultural diversity as it relates to ethnic minority and socio-economic groups, communication within groups, leadership, and decision-making.
