Description:
A study of the management of common traumatic emergencies and recognition of potential problems related to mechanism of injury and kinematics. Pathophysiology of shock, soft tissue trauma and burn management is included in this curriculum. Musculoskeletal trauma, immobilization and interventions of head/neck, thoracic and spinal trauma will be emphasized. This curriculum includes skills lab and practice of basic and advanced life support immobilization, splinting and bandaging and will meet the standards of the national basic trauma life support guidelines.
