This course offers an introduction to current techniques and procedures of measurement and assessment. Additionally, assessment applications will be analyzed through the lens of achievement gaps and differentiated groups including gender, special needs populations, ethnicity. Basic mathematical formulas will be reviewed and practiced. Formative and summative assessments will be developed and implemented in field experiences. State and national assessment data will be analyzed, and strategies for closing achievement gaps will be discussed.
