This course will explore women in art as both subject matter and as artists in a variety of media ranging from the Venus of Willendorf of 25,000 BCE in Paleolithic art and culminating in Faith Ringgold's "Who's Afraid of Aunt Jemima" in the post-modern era. Both library research and fietrips will be required.
