The Prison is an in-depth examination of the prison in the U.S. today and the function that it serves. All aspects of the prison will be examined, including prison programs and the negative effect of incarceration including the "prisonization" process. The prison will be examined from acritical perspective, particularly from the point of view of whether logical community alternatives exist for many inmates, in place of the prison.
