This studio course emphasizes a practical understand of subtractive and additive color. Topics include color systems, a fundamental vocabulary for analyzing and identifying color and color phenomena. Students are introduced to color properties and relationships through study, direct analysis, reading, demonstrations, exercises, and formal assignments. Then use of color by various artists is examined. The ability to utilize color in a variety of fields is emphasized. Prerequisite: ART 104 or permission of the instructor.
