A study of microorganisms as disease-causing agents, including viruses, rickettsiae, bacteria, protista and fungi. This study includes characteristics of the pathogen, symptoms of the disease in the host, prevention of and cures for the disease, and means of spreading pathogen and disease. Laboratory sessions cover techniques and exercises appropriate to the course. Pre/co-requisites: BIO 204 and BIO 205 or permission of instructor.
