An introduction to contemporary environmental challenges facing the world and our nation. Topics may include, but are not limited to, the ecological system, pollution, strip mining and land reclamation, agricultural problems, challenges of landfills, soil conservation, water quality and other issues facing government and society. Field trips may be required. Laboratory sessions cover techniques and exercises appropriate to the course in both laboratory and field settings.
