In this course, the student examines the historical, political, social and cultural bases of the United States with an interdisciplinary framework. Topics will include the Bill of Rights, federalist papers, slavery, imperial presidency, sense of the 1960's, multiculturalism and ethnicity, and the importance and directions of the women's movement. Prerequisite: junior standing. Designated diversity studies course. Designated professional studies. Designated critical thinking.
