Math for Meds is designed to provide practical application of math skills to real-life situations such as calculating medication dosages. Students will develop critical thinking skills to apply to medication dosage calculation. The course will include a review of basic mathematics and systems of measurement used in dosage calculation. Students will use real-life examples to become proficient in all types of dosage problems including oral medications, injectable medications, intravenous drips, and weight-based dosing. Students will find the course useful as an example of practical application of mathematics to real-life situations. Prerequisites: MA 137 or MA 135 or higher or consent of the instructor.
