This course introduces concepts and principles of basic nursing assessment and care. Emphasis is placed on basic human needs, nurse-client interaction, diversity issues, and measures essential for the physical and psychological comfort and safety of the clients. Presents nursing care of clients experiencing interferences with physiological integrity. Six hours of theory and an average of eight hours of clinical are required per week. Prerequisite: Admission to nursing program. Co-requisites: ENG 101 or 104, and PSY 150 or 180, and BIO 190 and BIO 191. Designated professional studies.
