Students in this course study the nature of and foundation principles of ethics. They will study internal anti external factors which might induce unethical behavior in police officers. They will learn to identify the Continuum of Compromise and study the relationship of stresses of the job and the ability to make ethical decision in their careers. They will study the five ethical standards by which officers are judged and explore the five Pillars of Character. Finally, students will engage in a detailed study of the Police Code of Ethics.
