Students in this course learn about the three eras of American policing. They study that part of the U.S. Constitution know as the Bill of Rights and learn that the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution is the basis for laws regarding arrest, and search and seizure. They are introduced to the SARA problem-solving model and are taught the relationship of problem solving to community policing.
