This course is an introduction to the legal aspects of the equine industry including purchase, sale, training and breeding contracts, and syndication agreements. Also included are sections on insurance and liability, employer obligations, interstate and import regulations and the regulation of breed organizations, and pan-mutual racing Also included are discussions on federal income tax laws and their impact on horsemen. Designated critical thinking. Prerequisite: EQS 321.
