Description:
This course provides grounding in the history of the therapeutic professions, ethics and legal documentation, and professional communication skills. Additionally, the course introduces the concepts and principles of therapeutic care. The students will be taught the basics of equine body language, bandaging techniques, and gait evaluation. Therapeutic skills include the application of heat and cold, massage, stretching and therapeutic exercise. Students may observe activities at local veterinary clinics. Prerequisite: Consent of the director of the Equine Therapy Program.
