This course is a general introduction to literary study, focusing on the critical reading, interpretation and analysis of fiction, poetry and drama. Students will learn to read and respond to the literary genres by writing essays which are informative, appreciative and evaluative. The student's will be introduced to the elements of fiction, poetry, drama, and nonfiction, and will learn to respond critically in writing to these works. Prerequisite: ENG 102.
