In this course students read a variety of texts with focus on the female characters within them, directing their attention to the relationship between gender and personal response and interpretation. Students will examine the ways in which women characters have both reflected and influenced the lives of real women during various time periods. Special focus on literary criticism. Prerequisite: ENG 210. Designated women's studies course.
