The first semester of a year-long course in chemistry for science majors. This course will cover measurement, stoichiometry, aqueous reactions, thermochemistry, atomic structure and an introduction to chemical bonding. This course includes a three-hour laboratory per week. Prerequisite: two years of algebra and one year of "high school level" chemistry, orpermission of instructor. Fall.
