A supervised, clinical education experience at local approved clinical settings. This is an opportunity for the athletic training student to apply principles taught in the classroom and practiced in the lab (didactic, affective and psychomotor) throughout the curriculum under the supervision of an Approved Clinical Instructor (ACI). The National Athletic Trainers' Association Education Council (NATA-EC) has identified the athletic training education competencies and clinical proficiencies necessary for effective performance as an entry-level certified athletic trainer (ATC). The Joint Review Committee-Athletic Training (JRC-AT) requires these competencies be used in curriculum development and education of the student enrolled in a Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) entry level Athletic Training Education Programs. Students may take no more than two (2) clinical experiences per semester. Prerequisite: ATRN 3103, HLTH 3101.
