1 hour The study and practice of melody, harmony and rhythm through sight singing and ear training. Taught as a companion course to MU 254 Harmony II.. The purpose of sight singing is to enable students to develop a "hearing eye," allowing students to translate musical symbols fromthe concrete level of music notation into sounds that communicate the composer's abstract musi cal intention. Ear training is designed to develop intelligent listening and the maximum in aural perception. Prerequisites: MU 150 and MU 152.
