This class will explore the basics of computer based 3D modeling and animation. Students will plan, build, paint, texture, rig, light, animate, and render three-dimensional models and environments. A general overview of the integration of 3D output in print, video, flash, VRML, and games will be provided. This course will use MAYA as its core software. More simple 3D programs (e.g. Amorphium, MED, Quark, Milk shape) may be introduced as time allows or student needs dictates. 3 credits/semester, 6 hours/week. Prerequisites: NM101 / 102.
