David C. Hester This is a practical theology course addressing the practice of Confirmation/Reaffirmation of Baptism in mainline Protestant churches today. Preparing persons for participation in this rite of passage is most often the responsibility of the pastor-teacher or other educator in a congregation. In anticipation of your congregational role, we will critically examine and reflect upon current debates, issues, and models for confirmation. This course fulfills the Teaching Ministry requirement for the Master of Divinity degree program.
