J. Bradley Wigger This course will explore the various situations of children in relation to educational ministry. Insights from the human sciences, theology, biblical studies, and the arts will be used to help address such questions and concerns as: How is the life of faith passed on from one generation to the next What is a family's role in Christian nurture What is a congregation's role What might Christian formation in childhood involve Is there a spirituality of parenting What is going on in childhood cognitively, developmentally, morally, socially, or culturally These questions, among others, will be pursued with particular attention devoted to the educational dimensions and implications for the church's ministry. This course fulfills the Teaching Ministry requirement for the Master of Divinity degree program.
