An interdisciplinary approach will be used to examine current ideas and research directions in biology. Social, ethical, and economic issues will be examined through readings and discussions. Specific topics and readings will vary from year to year. Students may take this course two times for credit toward the biology major. Prequisite: 10 hours of biology, junior or higher. Credit one hour.
