A study of the period from 1500-1800 that resulted in Europe's transition from medieval to modern culture. Emphasis will be placed on the Protestant Reformation and Catholic Counter-Reformation, rise of Constitutionalism and Absolutism, European exploration/colonization, and the Enlightenment. Prerequisite: junior or senior standing or permission of instructor. Credit three hours. (Fee $7)
