General survey of biomolecules including carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, nucleic acids, vitamins and minerals. The metabolism of the major nutrients and protein biosynthesis are studied. The laboratory involves the separation, structure determination and function of biomolecules emphasizing modern instrumental methods. Three lecture hours and one 3-hour laboratory per week. Prerequisite: CHEM 3302 and 3202. Offered during the spring semester.
