This course will provide the opportunity for students to survey the classes and major orders of an extremely "successful" group of animals. Wewill study the evolutionary history, morphological /physiological /behavioral adaptations, habitats, and conservation of these organisms, as well as techniques that are commonly employed to capture live vertebrates. In addition, students will gain experience using a dichotomous key to identify classify those species that they are most likely to encounter in western Kentucky. Three lectures and one 3 hr laboratory. Prerequisite: Biology 2305 and 2306. Offered during the spring semester of odd-numbered years.
