Technical and expressive approaches employing Western and non-Western traditions explored as means to cultivate perceptual ability and conceptual thinking. Foundational drawing skills developed through study and effective use of line, value, mass, composition and spatial organization. Prerequisite: major or permission of instructor or departmental chair. Spring semester section open to nonmajors. Lab fee.
