Investigates the evolution of the arts in the western tradition through the 18th and 19th centuries. Major works, styles, and artists are examined within the context of contemporaneous socio-cultural movements, such as the Enlightenment. Among the movements studied are: Neoclassicism, Romanticism, Realism, Art Nouveau, Impressionism, and Post-Impressionism. Fulfills the Aesthetics perspective of the General Education requirements.
