Furthers development of chemical principles with emphasis on organic and biological systems. For example, this course covers a study of the structure and chemistry of the principle classes of organic compounds as well as carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids and the study of enzymes and the metabolism of carbohydrates, lipids, and nitrogen compounds.
