Prerequisites: ENGL 100 and status or consent of instructor. Analyzes how Chicana authors explore race, class, and gender. Focuses on use of sexuality, particularly with regard to cultural and literary stereotypes vs. experience and aesthetic practice. Themes will include desire, identity, empowerment through "traditional" roles, and violence and the body.Same as ENGL 442.
