Students examine, analyze, and discuss selected topics in Japanese culture and modern society by analyzing Japanese animation (anime) and printed cartoons (manga). Familiarity with Japanese language is desirable but not required. General Education Category A must be completed prior to taking any course except language courses where students meet formal prerequisites and/or competency equivalent for advanced study.
